My bad. What happened was that in the plist, I had set a Background Mode: Audio, while the app doesn’t support running in the background. I had mistakenly believed that Background Mode == Standby.

Thanks for the tutorial. Its helpful except it is extremely, painful to, read it, with all of, the unneccessary, commas, every couple words, good besides that though.

From my experience, Apple won’t reject an app, that uses this method.

Of course, I cannot guarantee that your app won’t be rejected because of this.

Apple will reject your app if you do this without having *audible* audio playing.

Hi Marco, thanks for your great work. However, I still have problems playing music(ipod) on background and launching my app which calls your MMPDeepSleepPreventer class. The ipod music fades away when app launches. I am testing on iPhone 3G. I seek your enlightment.

Kudos to thinking out of the box.

But…

With the iOS 4.0 background processes, there may be a simpler way to achieve this.

Apple probably added the deep sleep feature for a reason (working towards their #1 rule of longer battery life).

The search goes on for a simpler solution…

My app need wifi connection with server when iphone lock . With your code wifi connection exist only 30 minutes, although UIRequiresPersistentWiFi = YES in the Info.plist. You can help solve this problem?
